
Thomas Stokell, Managing Director
Thomas has ten years' experience in social marketing and cycle promotion. He piloted New Zealand's first 'Workplace Cycle Challenge' in 2002 and has been designing and implementing other successful programmes since. He established Challenge for Change in 2007 to bring the 'Workplace Cycle Challenge' programme to Europe. Thomas likes to play the piano and enjoy the outdoors. He is also a shameless promoter of New Zealand wine and would like you to know that Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc is quite delicious.

Phillip Darnton, Chairman
Phillip has spent most of his career working for multi-national businesses, Unilever and Reckitt and Colman, in marketing and general management roles. Phillip’s involvement with the cycling world began in 2000 when he was the Chairman and Chief Executive of Raleigh UK. He was invited by the Department of Transport to join the newly created National Cycling Strategy Board, becoming its Chairman in 2004. He led the creation of Cycling England which aimed to get “more people cycling, more safely, more often” and chaired the body from 2005 to 2011.

Tim Norton, Director
Tim is a passionate web and social entrepreneur who builds global communities of action. Tim saw the potential that Challenge for Change had to get millions more people cycling on our beautiful planet. He is a founding Director and angel investor and is still actively involved in growing Challenge for Change. Tim is at home in nature, loves being physical and traveling the world learning and living.

Louise Pearson, Operations Manager
Louise has managed the delivery of our Workplace Cycle Challenge programmes since 2010 and has played a key role in developing and improving our tools and systems to deliver successful Challenges with great outcomes. She has a wealth of marketing and project management experience that spans the public, private and third sector. Louise relaxes with a ride along the canal, loves nurturing her allotment and planning her next faraway holiday.

Sam Robinson, Partnerships Manager
Sam has a professional CSR background and wealth of experience delivering UK and international development and sustainability programmes. He won the 'Overseas Project’ category at the 2010 Third Sector Charity Business Awards for his ‘FutureBuilding’ project in Tanzania. His career spans the public, private and voluntary sectors, giving unique insight to many aspects of programme design and delivery. Sam also plays football for the world-famous Easton Cowboys, crams in as much camping with his family as possible and keeps the beat with a local Samba band.

Rachel Woodward, Project Manager
Rachel has managed the delivery of six successful Challenges in the UK, since starting at Challenge for Change in January 2011. Rachel previously worked promoting sustainable travel to businesses in Southampton. She has an MSc in Public Health and three years experience working on studies into health behaviour in the UK and Australia. Rachel loves exploring the great outdoors, cooking, baking and practising yoga.

Sophie Edmondson, Project Co-ordinator
Sophie has a degree in Psychology, and an interest in health behaviours and sports psychology. One of the newest members of the team, she makes sure our Challenges and websites run like clockwork. In her spare time you’ll find Sophie playing Ultimate Frisbee for Leeds and at international level, while mustering the courage to one day do a naked bike challenge.

Jennifer Mak, Project Co-ordinator
Jennifer has a Masters degree in Health Psychology and is interested in promoting healthier behaviours. She supports the planning, delivery and evaluation of Challenges. In her spare time, she enjoys learning to sing and salsa, cooking and talking about food.

Lisa-marie Lombardi, Executive Assistant
Lisa has recently graduated in Philosophy and Spanish and looking for the next challenge, she grasped the opportunity to work for an innovative and nurturing business. Combined with her passion for cycling and keen interest in sustainable travel she knew that working for Challenge for Change would be a great way to kick-start her career. Very rarely leaving her house without her bike you’ll find her tackling the streets of Bristol come rain or shine and even in her heels!

Dr Carolyn O' Fallon, Social Researcher
Since 1993, Carolyn has worked in the transport sector as a researcher and policy advisor in New Zealand, with clients including the Ministry of Transport and Transit New Zealand. Carolyn is the lead advisor on the quantitative and qualitative research and analysis for our programmes.

James Nisbet, Web Designer
James is both a web designer and web developer, which often means he takes a creative approach to the challenges we face with the complexity of our website application. He has a wealth of experience in developing online tools and has a keen eye for good, clear design.

Rebecca Le Pine, Graphic Designer
Rebecca is a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication Major),and started working for Gibson Rusden Design Group Limited, a design agency based in Wellington while still at school. She has since worked as a graphic designer in Sydney, London and Dubai, and designs marketing materials for all our Workplace Challenges.
